An Arty Weekend Out

From left: Muhd Razif Nasruddin, Ian Davies, Shukor Yahya, Ismail Ibrahim, Jeremy Little

Last weekend, we got up bright and early to attend Thinklab's 3rd Design Conference at the National Art Gallery. We heard gems of wisdom from such speakers as Prof Dato Dr Ahmad Hj Zainuddin (Chairman of Majlis Rekabentuk Malaysia), graphic designer Shukor Yahya (who showed us what Kufi is all about), Elisabeth Cardosa (Executive Director of Badan Warisan Malaysia) and more! ArtMalaysia is proud to be the event media partner and we hope those who got our mag have a good read = ) kudos to the Thinklab organising team for another inspiring conference.

Japanese Design Galore

There was also the Japanese Design Today 100 exhibition right beside the auditorium. We were sad the Honey-pop chair was out of stock though... but Naoto Fukasawa mobile phones kept us happy!

Exhibition view at VWFA Bangsar

Tanapol Kaewpring's Untitled , 2010, Inkjet on paper, 75 x 100 cm Edition 5

Next, we headed to CUT2010: New Photography from Southeast Asia at VWFA. Curated by Eva McGovern with the theme Parallel Universe, the exhibition presented some stunning (in the shocking or awed way, depending on what you're looking at) photography works.

Roslan Bakri Zakaria giving a talk on Technopreneur and Enterprise Development

Lastly, we stopped by 1Utama's Studio V to see what all the hype on TechEureka was about. It was the place to be if you're a technopreneur with creative and innovative ideas!

Catch our next issue for the full coverage of these events~
